COVID 19 Update

Posted on September 8, 2020 in News

It seems overnight the world as we knew it has changed.

Like everyone else, Footprints has been dormant most of 2020.

During isolation I was very grateful we could still walk and walk we did.

We made use of the isolation to walk all our trails on the Bellarine again and I was inspired and motivated how beautiful this Peninsular is as it curves along the Surf Coast to confidently stand guarding the Heads into Port Phillip bay before meandering around the corner through the peaceful villages of St Leonards, Indented Heads and Portarlington.

According to the COVID 19 recovery plan we may all be considering domestic travel when isolation ends as the future and cost of International travel remains in limbo.

So its time to refresh and inspire you to consider our Self Guided walking holidays on the Bellarine. Did you know that the Bellarine Peninsular near Geelong is one of Lonely Planets top 10 best value world destinations for 2017? It’s long been a well-known hideaway for laid back family holidays for Victorians but these days things have changed and the secret is out. And what better way to truly absorb the Bellarine than a self-guided walking holiday. Footprint Walks is our local family business that has used this European model of self-guided walking to allow you to walk the Peninsular in style and comfort while we do the rest.

We have two products.

We will book your accommodation that will be central and hospitable, providing vouchers for local cafes serving breakfast and shift your luggage. Equipped with our trail notes and maps you will have the excitement and fun of navigating your way through the Bellarine’s quaint coastal villages.

There is so much to see on your 5 day self-guided walk from the rugged beauty of the surfside villages to the historic village of Queenscliff and the hidden secrets of St Leonards, Edwards Point to the serenity of Port Phillip Bay and Portarlington with it’s many eateries, renowned wineries and music venues. On the last night of the 5 day walk we supply the evening meal and wine at a well-known winery where you can toast your achievements. You can even return to Melbourne via the Portarlington ferry that sails to Docklands So now the secret is out dust off those walking boots, leave the car at home and get down to the Bellarine with Footprint Walks.
