Surf Coast self-guided walking holidays

The Victorian Surf Coast is the birthplace of Australian surfing, this – combined with the endless beaches, bushland and kangaroos – all helps shape this rugged coastline. Stretching between Torquay and Aireys Inlet, our Surf Coast walking holidays immerse you in one of the world’s most stunning coastlines. While exploring this region, take advantage of fine dining, local wines and brewery makers and fresh provedores.

Day One

Arrive in Torquay for the beginning of your Surf Coast walking holiday. Relax and unwind in this cosmopolitan seaside village. The options for exploring local food and wine are endless – from contemporary restaurants to local breweries and even a chocolatier just out of town.

Day Two

Exploring Torquay via foot. 9 kilometres walked.

Day Three

The self-guided nature walk from Torquay to Anglesea is one of our most challenging walks, but it is well worth it. You will be rewarded for all your hard work with breathtaking cliff top views, Aboriginal sites and a close encounter with the beautiful Australian bush. 23 kilometres walked.

Day Four

Beach, bush and kangaroos all shape Anglesea into more than just a beach town. That is why you will spend two nights here. Apart from our walks around the town, just before sunset you must get to the Golf Club to see the Eastern Grey Kangaroos grazing on the fairways – impervious to the fascinated tourists. 9 kilometres walked.

Day Five

Leaving Anglesea, your self-guided bush walk leads you to Aireys Inlet, where you will take in the seaside town of Point Roadknight. Along this walk you can explore rock pools rich with marine life, pristine beaches and local breweries boasting no additives, no chemicals and no extracts in their brew, along with fresh local dining options. 15.7 kilometres walked.

Day Six

Your final leg of the Surf Coast walking tour takes you from Aireys Inlet to the iconic Great Ocean Road. You will explore the stunning landscape where the Australian bush meets the sea. Take an opportunity to have your photo taken under the iconic Great Ocean Road sign. 15 kilometres walked.

Day Seven

On the last day of your walking holiday, we recommend you continue exploring the local area – proceeding along the Great Ocean Road to the seaside village of Lorne.
